How I got into computer science

I spent most of my teens playing games. I wasn't interested in development and didn't expect to study it.

My parents pushed me to take computer science. I'm glad they did. I found work I enjoy, want to master, and can earn a living from.

Tools and backup plans

Tools

I switch between design tools and code, depending on the problem. I rarely leave the first version alone. Once it works, I start adjusting the details.

Planning

I can overthink a problem. I look at it from a few angles and plan for things that might go wrong later. Plan B tends to come with C, D, and E.

Friends and family

I make time for friends and family. I talk a lot, and I'll embarrass my friends in front of strangers if it makes us laugh. I stop when the joke might hurt someone.
